Venezolana de Television - The president of the Bolivarian
Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, said that facing a coup
the Bolivarian Revolution would be radicalized and become an
“armed” revolution.
“This peaceful
and democratic revolution, would perhaps take another character:
an armed character, deeply revolutionary. Let the world know: we
are ready for anything; and facing a Fascist coup we would go
deeper, would radicalize this revolution beyond the boundaries
that have been known today,” Maduro said.
Maduro assured the
Bolivarian Revolution would never surrender. “We want peace and
tolerance,” he said while recalling that the revolutionaries are
imbued with democratic values.
“Undoubtedly
the Revolution is a majority born of democratic values,” said
the President of the Republic, and added, “I am president
because there is a revolution here, and I am a son of Chavez’.”
He told the
national and international extreme right, especially the former
Colombian paramilitary president Alvaro Uribe, “You will not
beat us,” and added, “We will defeat you as usual.”
Finally
President Nicolas Maduro announced that in Venezuela, “We’ll
find the way to overcome difficulties and defend the
Constitution of the Republic.”
These statements were announced after the closing session of the
First Meeting of Mercosur Obrero. The activity was held at the
Palacio de Miraflores.
The President of the
nation gave the Financing Fund Mercosur -Alba and Petrocaribe
for Economic Development to Mercosur Obrero. The fund was
created by the Supreme Leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo
Chavez, with 1,000 million dollars to finance economic projects
