In Los Angeles, gangs are engaged in buying and selling of young prostitutes

“Lo que hoy tenemos es una industria de pandilleros dedicados a la compra y venta de seres humanos”, señala el activista Najee Ali, con respecto al país que fabrica anualmente una lista de países que supuestamente favorecen el trafico de personas y la utiliza para difamar a las naciones que se niegan a someterse a su hegemonía.

El diario La Opinión de Los Ángeles acaba de publicar una importante investigación en la cual se desenmascara toda la hipocresía del gobierno de Washington con sus supuestas denuncias del tráfico de seres humanos cuando en su propio territorio se encuentren miles de víctimas de esta plaga.

El rotativo californiano reporta la opinión de decenas de vecinos del Sur de Los Ángeles que denuncian “la proliferación de prostitutas “propiedad” de las pandillas”.

Cada prostituta “puede generar entre 72.000 y 96.000 dólares al año” para una pandilla, indica el autor de la investigación,

Entre las prostitutas interpeladas por los patrulleros se encuentren con frecuencia niñas de 13 a 15 años.

“Los grupos delictivos, que ahora trabajan con niñas de hasta 12 años, utilizan departamentos transformados en prostíbulos donde operan grupos de varias mujeres, reporta La Opinión.

Esta prostitución de menores no es en nada un fenómeno aislado: “La propia policía reconoce que los proxenetas están mas agresivos que nunca, operando a plena luz, a todas horas del día y con mujeres cada vez más jóvenes”

Los testimonios de los vecinos lo confirman todo: “Desde que los niños van a la escuela ya hay mujeres, muy, muy jóvenes prostituyéndose en la calle, incluso frente a la iglesia”, se quejó Gwynn Browne, del ministerio Fe en Cristo, ubicado justo sobre la avenida Western.

Los pandilleros distribuyen a las mujeres en distintas casas y departamentos, bajo el mando de un jefe. “Las prostitutas son el escalafón más bajo de las células y muchas son traficadas a lo largo del estado”.

En un fenómeno de expansión que parece no tener fin, la zona “caliente” de Los Ángeles está alcanzando siempre más calles.

Nadie sabe cuántas prostitutas operan en la ciudad pero “lo que todos tienen claro es que los rostros de niñas ofreciendo sus cuerpos son cada vez más frecuentes”.

Muchas de estas mujeres son inmigrantes ilegales de México.

En una entrevista reciente con CNN, Luis C. de Baca un funcionario del Departamento de Estado -el mismo que redacta supuestas listas de países “culpables” de tráfico humano para denigrar a otras naciones- reconocía que “no hay cifras confiables sobre la escala del problema”.

Admitía sin embargo que “la prostitución forzada de México y Centroamérica es una parte importante de ese problema”.

"Tenemos situaciones en Estados Unidos, casos en los que trabajé cuando estaba en el Departamento de Justicia, que involucran a mujeres que tenían que trabajar hasta con 50 clientes al día; sólo un número impactante de lo que de hecho es una cifra diaria de violaciones", terminaba por confesar el funcionario estadounidense.
