If I find it advisable, as I have said before, every time I post information I receive from CubaLeaks I include my own comments. Some readers, however, have told me that at times they find it difficult to distinguish the personal comments from the real piece of news from the source, so I decided to highlight my observations. The comrades who send me these CubaLeaks items are grateful for the favorable reception of their idea. I'd like to point out as well that all I do is receive and pass on what they send me, which by the way is very interesting. 1. - According to CubaLeaks sources, the order banning State Department officials from reading the material disclosed by Wikileaks was issued by Hillary Clinton herself. Censorship of this kind of material has been enforced in other US agencies like Homeland Security, the CIA and the FBI, where access is only granted on a need-to-know basis. Even students who might one day apply to work in the field of foreign relations have been subjected to intimidation. The State Department has told those who study in such prestigious universities as Harvard, Columbia and Tuft to be members of the diplomatic corps of their country of get a job in foreign service that what Wikileaks has revealed is classified material, access to and comments on which would cast doubt on the applicant's ability to handle similar documents as holders of federal government positions. COMMENT: The first amendment of the US Constitution has once again blown to pieces. The kind of censorship so often imposed by the US before, sometimes in disguise and at other times quite openly -as during the war in Iraq, where only the Pentagon could report what was going on- comes to the fore again as a scandal-concealing resource. I don't understand why only a group of CIA and FBI officers have permission to access the information without it being a breach. I'm sure their agents have read worst things. Could it be that they don't trust the rest of them? Obviously, the Obama Administration is trying to keep as much of the world as possible from knowing what has leaked out, since the more shit hits the fan, the worse the smell will be. 2. - CubaLeaks had access to documents describing in painfully thorough details CIA's torture techniques like the so called waterboarding and the agency's recommended precautions to prevent death in the process. During interrogation sessions, CIA officers pump so much water into the prisoner's stomach that they're also giving them a special saline solution to keep them alive. They use a stretcher especially designed to make the prisoner lean back in an angle that allows the highest amount of liquid into his/her stomach through the mouth and nose, thus causing the captive to experience the sensations of drowning. Hence the need to watch the prisoner carefully to sit them up and clear their respiratory tract in case they stop breathing. Among the recommendations listed in this document is to play close attention to the way the prisoner is breathing while the saline solution is being pumped down the prisoner's throat in order to pump it out as soon as he exhales to make sure he/she inhales the solution instead of air when they try to breath. Every interrogation session should last two hours, during which this technique will be applied six times for 40 seconds. By the end, liquid must have flowed through the prisoner's mouth and nose for a total of 12 minutes. A liquid diet is recommended to feed and keep torturing the prisoner. Ensure Plus is the brand name suggested by the agency for these cases. COMMENT: There's really no need to say anything about this piece of news. It's downright medieval-style torture, typical of a bunch of delinquents who have no respect for human laws or rights. And those who command and protect them are even worse. 3. - According to a CubaLeaks source, it was José Rodríguez, a high-ranking CIA officer, who ordered the destruction of the 92 videotapes made of the interrogation sessions at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq showing the torture methods employed to extract information or confessions from the prisoners, including various forms of humiliation, intimidation and other actions contrary to the victim´s religious beliefs. Since the tapes had been destroyed, the federal prosecutor found that there wasn't sufficient evidence to press charges against the "alleged" torturers. Thus, neither they nor those who gave the orders nor the CIA officer who burned the tapes will be brought to justice. COMMENT: A good example of how US justice works and the best way they have to protect the assassins hired by the empire to fight "terror" , whose actions deserve no other name than "terrorism". ============================================ ME LO ENVIÓ CUBALEAKS Por: Dr. Néstor García Iturbe 7 de diciembre del 2010 Como he planteado en ocasiones anteriores, después de publicar las informaciones que he recibido de CUBALEAKS, si lo entiendo conveniente incluyo un comentario. Algunos de los receptores me han planteado que a veces no distinguen el comentario de la noticia recibida de CUBALEAKS, de ahí que los comentarios los señalaré adecuadamente. Los compañeros que me envían CUBALEAKS agradecen la acogida que ha tenido su iniciativa. Aclaro también que yo soy un simple receptor y transmisor de lo que envían, que por cierto es muy interesante. 1. - Se pudo conocer por una fuente de CUBALEAKS que de la propia oficina de Hillary Clinton salió la orden de prohibir a los funcionarios del Departamento de Estado leer los cables que ha publicado WIKILEAKS. La censura sobre este tipo de material se ha extendido a otras agencias del gobierno de Estados Unidos como el Departamento de Seguridad de la Patria, la Agencia Central de Inteligencia (CIA) y el Buró Federal de Investigaciones (FBI) donde se plantea que solamente tengan acceso a dichos materiales los oficiales que se encuentran investigando el fenómeno. Se ha tratado de intimidar a estudiantes que en el futuro pudieran aspirar a trabajar en los sectores vinculados a las relaciones exteriores de Estados Unidos. El Departamento de Estado ha enviado comunicación a las escuelas de Diplomacia y Asuntos Internacionales de distintas universidades prestigiosas, entre ellas Harvard, Columbia y Tuft, donde plantean a los estudiantes que lo divulgado por WIKILEAKS se considera material clasificado y que el acceso a los mismos y comentarlos cuestionaría la habilidad de estos para manejar ese tipo de documento en cargos propios del gobierno federal. COMENTARIO. Nuevamente voló en pedazos la primera enmienda de la Constitución de Estados Unidos. La Censura que tantas veces han aplicado, algunas veces abiertamente como hicieron en la guerra de Iraq donde solamente el Pentágono podía dar noticias y otras de forma velada, vuelve a ser uno de los instrumentos estadounidenses para tratar de esconder los escándalos. No entiendo porque solamente un grupo de oficiales de la CIA y el FBI pueden tener acceso sin que eso sea una violación. Estoy seguro que ese personal ha leído cosas peores. ¿Será que no le tienen confianza? Evidentemente lo que está tratando la administración Obama es que estos cables se divulguen lo menos posible, pues mientras más se revuelve la mierda, peor es el olor. 2. - CUBALEAKS tuvo acceso a unos documentos en los que se describen las prácticas de ahogamiento que aplica la CIA y el procedimiento a seguir para evitar que el que las sufre fallezca todo lo cual se realiza con una crueldad meticulosa. Al llevar a cabo los interrogatorios, los oficiales de la CIA bombean tanta agua dentro del estómago del detenido que para evitar el riesgo de muerte en vez de agua están utilizando una solución salina especialmente preparada. Para introducir el agua en el cuerpo de la persona se utiliza una camilla especialmente diseñada para que el prisionero quede recostado hacia atrás en un ángulo que permita entrar en su estómago la mayor cantidad de líquido posible. El líquido se introduce por la boca y nariz del prisionero. Esto incrementa la sensación de ahogo, por lo que se debe estar atento si el mismo deja de respirar para levantarlo y quitarle el aditamento. Entre las recomendaciones que establece el documento es que mientras se está bombeando la solución salina debe observarse la respiración del detenido, para bombearla inmediatamente que este exhale, con lo que se asegura que en vez de aire inhalara la solución cuando trate de respirar. Cada sesión de interrogatorio debe durar dos horas, durante las que se aplicará la técnica en seis oportunidades, con la duración de 40 segundos en cada oportunidad. Al final del día debe haberse bombeado el líquido a través de la boca y la nariz por un término total de 12 minutos. Para mantener al detenido vivo y poder continuar torturándolo se recomienda que el mismo sea alimentado con una dieta líquida. La agencia recomienda utilizar el producto comercial Ensure Plus. COMENTARIO. Realmente considero que esta información no necesita comentario alguno. Es un franca tortura al estilo medieval propia de un grupo de malhechores que no respetan las leyes ni los derechos humanos. Los que los orientan y protegen son peores que los torturadores. 3. - Una de las fuentes de CUBALEAKS informó que José Rodríguez, un alto funcionario de la CIA fue quien ordenó destruir las cintas de video tomadas durante los interrogatorios a los detenidos en la cárcel de Abu Grhaib en Irak. Las 92 cintas de video destruidas mostraban las torturas que se empleaban con el propósito de obtener información o confesiones por parte de los detenidos. En ocasiones se utilizaron prácticas vejaminosas, intimidación y acciones contrarias a las creencias religiosas de los encarcelados. Al haber sido destruidas las cintas el fiscal federal concluyó que no existen pruebas suficientes para formular acusación a los “presuntos” torturadores, por lo que nadie será juzgado por estas acciones, ni los que las ejecutaron, ni los que las ordenaron , ni el alto funcionario de la CIA que ordenó destruir las mismas. COMENTARIO. Aquí tenemos una muestra completa del funcionamiento de la justicia en Estados Unidos. Es la mejor forma de proteger a los sicarios que se prestan a ser instrumento del imperio para la lucha contra el “terrorismo”, los cuales por sus acciones no pueden ser calificados de otra forma que como terroristas. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
