FRESH OFF CUBALEAKS December 9, 2010 It's 11:30 p.m., and right as I was about to turn off my computer and plug myself into Morpheus, I received this report from CUBALEAKS that I just can't put off until tomorrow and must post today even if I fall asleep all over my keyboard. Congratulations to Yohandry Fontana on a very good article. I keep receiving and sending, throwing to second, to use a piece of baseball jargon. Best regards, Néstor Garcia Iturbe (I think I don't feel sleepy anymore) //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Cuba: Mercenaries surprised by Cuban paparazzo as they try to "make a living" Darsi Ferrer (I) leaving the U.S. Interests Section (SINA) in Havana after being instructed by her bosses. Elizardo Sánchez (a.k.a. El Camaján) can't wait to see what they gave him. Vladimiro Roca (left) and Martha Beatriz Roque (right) leaving the Interests Section. From left to right, Laura Pollán, one of the Ladies in Support, and Alejadrina (one of the Ladies in White) Ladies in White carrying bags with Made-in-USA instructions. Like in one of those family gatherings when the Christmas season is drawing near to decide, in between kisses and hugs, who will take care of the rice and beans and who will bring the yucca, Cuban counterrevolutionaries as important as Vladimiro Roca, Marta Beatriz and other weeds of the same ilk seem to have held their own meeting Monday with officials of the U.S. Interests Section in Havana. It was not precisely to organize a New Year's Eve celebration that they had such a tender and warm get-together, but to wag their tail in gratitude as they were briefed on what to do on December 10, Human Rights Day. Hardly surprising, since he who pays calls the shots, and these specimens keep their umbilical cords permanently connected with Mother SINA's dollars and wait eagerly for their pat on the back by those who fill their saddlebacks with the slips of papers and other stuff that they must follow to the letter, as any individual initiative is out of the question. Therefore, never let it be said that Darsi Ferrer wrote the pamphlet, posted in the Internet the day after the meeting, calling for a demonstration in a park of Havana in favor of human rights. There we would find only a handful of (people?) There we will find four cats, or is itdogs? And certain foreign reporters going to any lengths to take their pictures from angles that conceal the very low turnout. The Ladies in White will be there, ready as usual to soil the purity of Cuban women by reserving the right to speak on their behalf. But make no mistake! Cuba's true citizens will also be there to exercise once again their human right to defend the truth and denounce who really rides roughshod over this country's right to build its future. |
