kTo those who don’t know her, this is Yoani Sánchez, taken in her apartment by the lens of the Spanish news agency EFE.
As we can see, her job as a “blogger” suits her down to the ground. Playing the opposition’s game has become a significant source of income for Yoani, judging by what we can see here about the place where she lives.
EFE’s article refers to Yoani’s likely problems to take part in a Congress in Chile. In statements to El Mercurio daily, she said she was planning to ask some important personalities to intercede on her behalf “so that this humble blogger is allowed to get on a plane”.
After a look at EFE’s photograph, I’ve got the impression that the word humble is rather superfluous here.
In the foreground we see a super laptop like few have ever seen in Cuba, and in the back is a color TV hooked to a DVD player and everything.
Nailed on the well-painted walls are several bookcases, on one of them there’s also a brand-new, state-of-the-art CD player flanked by speakers, as well as expensive-looking pictures, all of them originals. Also noticeable are fine ceramic ornaments.
From the ceiling hangs a pentagonal stained-glass lamp made by a very skilled craftsman (by “pentagonal” I’m not implying it was a gift from some Pentagon official) and some natural plants, a number of which are also scattered throughout the apartment.
This “humble” blogger is enjoying the standard of living she can afford thanks to the money she gets for defaming her homeland and selling the merchandise that the enemies of the Revolution like best. Nothing could be further from the true meaning of the term “humble”.
Leafing through my thesaurus I found the following antonyms of humble: arrogant, impertinent, vain, rude, conceited, pliable…
You go ahead and take your pick.
UNA “HUMILDE” BLOGUERA

Para aquellos que no la conocen, esta es Yoani Sánchez captada por el
lente de la agencia española EFE mientras la misma se encontraba en su
residencia.
Como
podrán observar, el oficio de “bloguera” no le ha salido del todo mal.
Jugar a la oposición ha sido una importante fuente de ingreso para Yoani,
lo cual podemos sacar en conclusión por esta vista parcial del
apartamento donde vive.
El artículo de EFE plantea de los problemas que Yoani pudiera tener
para viajar a un Congreso en Chile. En las declaraciones de esta al
diario El Mercurio, planteó que pediría a varias personalidades
intercedieran por ella “para que a esta
humilde
bloguera la dejen abordar un avión”
Tengo la impresión, al ver la foto que publica EFE, que la palabra
humilde
está de más.
En primer plano puede verse una súper lap-top como hay pocas en
Cuba.
Al fondo, un televisor en colores con su correspondiente equipo de
DVD.
Contra la pared, un estante lleno de libros, sobre el cual se
distingue un flamante equipo plano reproductor de música de los más
modernos que se fabrican, acompañados con dos bocinas estéreo.
En las paredes, se han colocado costosos cuadros, todos originales.
Colgando del techo, una lámpara pentagonal compuesta por cristales
planos de distintos colores, obra de un refinado artesano (lo de
pentagonal no lo tomen como que se la regaló alguien del Pentágono).
Sobre los estantes de libros, adornos de cerámica, también de fina
artesanía.
En distintos lugares de la casa se han colocado plantas naturales,
algunas cuelgan del techo.
Las paredes se encuentran perfectamente pintadas.
Esta “humilde”
bloguera está disfrutando un nivel de vida que le mantiene el dinero
recibido por difamar a su patria, por vender la mercancía que interesa a
los enemigos de la revolución, nada más lejano a poder llamarse
“humilde”.
En el diccionario de sinónimos y antónimos, se plantea que lo
contrario de la palabra humilde, pudiera ser calificado como soberbio,
impertinente, vanidoso, insolente, presuntuoso, acomodado.
