miércoles una visita de cuatro días a Cuba por invitación de
los obispos católicos de la isla.Según fuentes eclesiásticas, el alto dignatario del Vaticano asistirá a la asamblea plenaria de la Conferencia de Obispos Católicos de Cuba, así como a la asamblea de la Comisión Nacional de Medios de Comunicación Social de dicho organismo, y pronunciará el viernes una conferencia magistral sobre el tema “Iglesia, comunicación y cultura”.
No se ha dado a conocer si el prelado italiano se reunirá también con las autoridades cubanas durante su estancia en la isla. Sin embargo, antes de su partida rumbo a La Habana, Radio Vaticano consideró que el viaje constituye “una ocasión importante para relanzar el diálogo entre la Iglesia y el Estado, en particular en el sector de los medios de comunicación”.
En Cuba, la Iglesia católica edita sus propias publicaciones, que distribuye libremente entre sus fieles.
