Given the political persecution he suffered in Poland, and the possibility of being sentenced in 1924 came to Havana, as political emigre, Abraham Grobart, his rightful name, although in Cuba he adopted several aliases: Yung, Otto Fabio. With the latter he is known in our country.

Fabio Grobart's biography is a beautiful song of exaltation to proletarian internationalism and human solidarity. Touching Cuban soil, at only 19 years of age, knowing nothing of the history of our land, and his  Spanish just "jabbering" about words, what was not limiting was his embrace of the workers' cause.

From then on, he held responsibilities in the Communist ranks, until his death on 21 October 1994, at 89 years of age. For Fabio, the party was home, school and trench. He had the privilege to experience the changes and glory of the First Congress of Communist groupings Cuba in 1925 and also the First Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba in 1975, in which he proposed Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro as First Secretary.

In 1965 he was among the first members of the Central Committee of Communist Party of Cuba, and in 1973 he was appointed President of the Institute of History of Communist Movement and the Socialist Revolution of Cuba. Three years later was elected to the National Assembly of People's Power.

Those who collaborated with Fabio Grobart felt admiration and respect for him. Blas Roca called him "dear friend" and Carlos Rafael Rodríguez, "teacher of revolutionaries."

Ante la persecución policiaca que sufría en Polonia, y la posibilidad de ser condenado, llegó en 1924 a La Habana, como emigrado político, Abraham Grobart, su nombre legítimo, aunque en Cuba adoptó varios seudónimos: Yunger, Otto Fabio. Con este último se le conoce en nuestro país.

La biografía de Fabio Grobart es un hermoso canto de exaltación al internacionalismo proletario y a la solidaridad humana. Al tocar suelo cubano, con solo 19 años de edad, nada conocía de la historia de nuestra tierra, y del español apenas "chapurreaba" unas palabras, lo que no fue limitante para abrazar la causa de los trabajadores.

Desde entonces, ocupó responsabilidades en las filas comunistas, hasta su fallecimiento el 21 de octubre de 1994, a los 89 años de edad. Para Fabio, el Partido fue hogar, escuela y trinchera. Tuvo el privilegio de vivir los avatares y la gloria del Primer Congreso de las Agrupaciones Comunistas de Cuba en 1925 y también del Primer Congreso del Partido Comunista de Cuba, en 1975, en el que propuso al Comandante en Jefe Fidel Castro como Primer Secretario.

En 1965 formó parte del primer Comité Central del Partido Comunista de Cuba, y en 1973, fue nombrado Presidente del Instituto de Historia del Movimiento Comunista y de la Revolución Socialista de Cuba. Tres años más tarde era elegido diputado a la Asamblea Nacional del Poder Popular.

Quienes compartieron con Fabio Grobart sentían por él admiración y respeto; Blas Roca lo llamaba "entrañable compañero" y Carlos Rafael Rodríguez "maestro de revolucionarios".
