Havana, Tuesday, 13 October 2009. Year 13 / number 287  Representatives of Communist Party of Israel Visit Cuba Invited by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, a delegation of members of the Communist Party of Israel (CPI) visited Cuba from October 2 to 12. Presiding over the group was Muhammed Barakeh, Politburo member, leader of progressive and democratic forces in the Israeli Parliament, and Secretary General of the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality (HADASH). Other members of the delegation were Jamil Abu Ras, CPI Politburo member and Secretary General of the Histadrut Trade Union, and Dr. Offer Cassit, university professor. During its stay, the Israeli delegation held several work meetings with Jorge Risquet Valdés, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba. There, Cuba ratified its support to the cause of Israeli communists and the Palestinian people, condemned the genocide perpetrated by Zionist administrations and fully endorsed the creation of a Palestinian State that should have its capital city in East Jerusalem. Año 13 / Número 287 Visitó Cuba delegación del Partido Comunista de Israel Invitada por el Comité Central del Partido Comunista de Cuba, visitó nuestro país del 4 al 12 de octubre una delegación del Partido Comunista de Israel (PCI), presidida por Muhammed Barakeh, miembro del Buró Político, líder de las fuerzas progresistas y democráticas en el Parlamento israelí y Secretario General del Frente Democrático por la Paz y la Igualdad (HADASH) e integrada además por Jamil Abu Ras, miembro del Buró Político del PCI y del Secretariado Nacional del Sindicato Histadrut, y por el doctor Offer Cassit, profesor universitario. Durante su estancia, la comitiva israelí sostuvo varios encuentros de trabajo con Jorge Risquet Valdés, miembro del Comité Central del Partido Comunista de Cuba, y con Jorge Martí Martínez, jefe de su Departamento de Relaciones Internacionales, en los cuales se reiteró nuestra posición de solidaridad con las luchas de los comunistas israelíes y con la causa palestina, así como nuestra condena al genocidio de los gobiernos sionistas y el absoluto respaldo al establecimiento de un Estado palestino con Jerusalén Este como capital. Por su parte, la representación del Partido Comunista de Israel reconoció el activo rol de Cuba en defensa de la justa causa del pueblo palestino, a la vez que condenó el cruel e inhumano bloqueo yanqui contra nuestro país y exigió la inmediata liberación de nuestros Cinco Héroes.
