The fact that Slumdog Millionaire is shown at the Chaplin-Wednesday at 8:00 pm, and Saturday at 5:00 pm, in the Indian Film Week reaffirms that filmmaking in this country has granted the state of grace to the multi-film, drawn from Anglo-American co-production prospects, prompting speculation about the intentions of its director, Danny Boyle English, the same as in 1996 would be known in the spectacular big Trainspotting.

Usually Boyle's films are characterized by treating serious issues and print with a strong visual style, imaginative and dynamic, sometimes a pure language clip, a  perfect wrap for dramatic stories about people trapped in an extreme situation. What it did then linked his argument to a type of realization that as formal as close enough to the Bollywood film?

After winning eight Oscars and other international awards, in Slumdog Millionaire he wanted to see a kind of parody of the massive Bollywood film, and to sustain this opinion he relied mainly on the film's final scene, where the classic table dance and songs appear. However, where the "brainy" spoke of sarcasm, which is seen is the director Danny Boyle's homage to Bollywood cinema, and also a fantastic way to use a final full of hope, to a story that had kept attention hugging his neck.

A beautiful reflection on the real wealth, rather than the money would be found in love and integrity.

Boyle, it is true, incorporates elements of Bollywood cinema to adapt the novel by Vikas Swarup, speaking of mafias that dominate Bombay and subjecting innocent children. But his vision ihas an artistic complexity that, since the absolute tenets of classical cinema, and with well-developed dramatic cliches, seeks to be different from its antecedents, and it certainly does.

In that struggle, tinged with suspense, the young man in the street that goes to the question and answer program on television to pursue what he considers "his destiny", the drama increases, not only by the events of the script, but also studied through the use of angles, the power of sound and music, and assembly, sometimes very aggressive, and that is somehow reminiscent of Fernando Meirelles' City of God.

Boyle's films respect t the traditions and ways of life of the country but does not contain a hard time deploying social frameworks and occasional irony, as the excessive fanaticism to the stars of film and television, which add a much-needed note of humor.

Violence is present in Slumdog Millionaire, but there is no pleasure in it, or in moral degradation. What matters is rather the protagonist's almost infinite capacity to overcome obstacles and realize love, even if that meant resorting to a romantic story that at times recalls fairy tales.
