New First Secretary of the Party in Pinar del Rio

The Plenum of the Provincial Committee of the Party in Pinar del Rio agreed a proposal from the Politburo, to free compañera Olga Lidia Tapia Iglesias of her duties as first secretary, recognizing her work in this area, especially in the difficult circumstances over the weather and in the recovery phase of the serious effects caused by these. The compañera will be promoted to new responsibilities in the Central Committee apparatus.

Gladys Martinez Verdecia, new first secretary in the province. Olga Lidia Tapia, promoted to new responsibilities in the Central Committee.

Replacing Olga Lidia Tapia, the plenary elected the compañera Gladys Martinez Verdecia who has served five years as a member of the executive bureau of the provincial committee.

Compañera Gladys, an agricultural engineer, 38 years old, has served nine years as a party cadre, addressing among others the responsibility of first secretary of the Municipal Party Committee in La Palma.

The plenary session was chaired by compañero Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, member of the Politburo, and Victor Gaute Lopez, member of the Central Committee Secretariat.

    Eligen nueva Primera Secretaria del Partido en Pinar del Río

El Pleno del Comité Provincial del Partido en Pinar del Río acordó, a propuesta del Buró Político, liberar de sus funciones como primera secretaria a la compañera Olga Lidia Tapia Iglesias, reconociendo su labor en ese territorio, especialmente en las difíciles circunstancias del paso de los fenómenos meteorológicos y en la etapa de recuperación de las graves afectaciones provocadas por estos. La compañera será promovida a nuevas responsabilidades en el Aparato del Comité Central.

Para sustituir a Olga Lidia Tapia el Pleno eligió a la compañera Gladys Martínez Verdecia que ha integrado desde hace cinco años como miembro, el buró ejecutivo del Comité Provincial.

La compañera Gladys, ingeniera agrónoma, de 38 años de edad, se ha desempeñado desde hace nueve años como cuadro del Partido, ocupando entre otras la responsabilidad de primera secretaria del Comité Municipal del Partido en La Palma.

El Pleno estuvo presidido por el compañero José Ramón Machado Ventura, miembro del Buró Político, y Víctor Gaute López, miembro del Secretariado del Comité Central.
