Gloria Estefan: "Voluntary CIA agent?"

De acuerdo con la revista People, si el destino no hubiera puesto a Gloria Estefan en el mundo de la música, probablemente la cantante cubana se hubiera convertido en espía, pues siendo muy joven y gracias a su habilidad con el manejo de los idiomas, la Agencia Central de Inteligencia (CIA) de Estados Unidos le propuso trabajar para la misma.

"Se dieron cuenta de que yo era de quien menos iba a sospechar cualquier persona, (me ofrecieron) que estuviera en la CIA y me dijeron que querían que yo fuera a entrenar a Atlanta", dijo la intérprete de 52 años al programa Al rojo vivo (Telemundo) con María Celeste Arrarás, y explicó que la oferta le llegó cuando trabajaba como intérprete de español, inglés y francés en la Aduana del Aeropuerto Internacional de Miami.

La cubana comentó que su madre influyó en su decisión diciéndole que no considerara la propuesta, pues ya había sufrido mucho con las actividades políticas su padre.

Sin embargo, además del conocimiento de varios idiomas, el historial de su padre, pudo haber sido una de las razones por lo que la CIA le propuso formar parte de sus filas.
