Communist Party Must Be Agile in Dealing with Problems

GUANTANAMO.— Cuban First Vice President Jose Ramon Machado Ventura said the Communist Party must always be in the vanguard and react with agility in dealing with problems so that they do not stagnate and rot away.  

Machado presided over the last round of annual review meetings in the municipality of Guantanamo. He said that the solution to workplace problems lie firstly with Communist Party members and their leadership, the administration, the Communist Youth League and the union. Nobody should have to come from outside to identify problems and their solutions, he added.   

The process of strengthening the Party leadership of a workplace should lead to greater production efficiency and improved quality of services and thus help achieve the transformations needed in society, said Machado. 

The Cuban first vice president acknowledged Carlos Salazar Gonzalez for his four years at the helm of the Guantanamo Municipal Communist Party Politburo and who will now go on to take over other responsibilities. The 600 delegates elected Freddy Vega Sanchez as the new first secretary. 

As others held at the municipal level, this annual review included a comprehensive analysis of the shortcomings of the Party’s work, said Luis Antonio Torres Iribar, member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the Party in the province. He added that nobody came to justify mistakes or things poorly done and said that many delegates expressed their dissatisfaction with the process of substituting imports and creating new export possibilities.

GUANTÁNAMO.— El Partido debe estar siempre a la vanguardia, reaccionar con agilidad ante los problemas y no permitir jamás que se entronicen y nos carcoman, señaló aquí José Ramón Machado Ventura, integrante del Buró Político.

El también Primer Vicepresidente de los Consejos de Estado y de Ministros presidió la Asamblea del Partido en el municipio de Guantánamo, con la cual concluyó el proceso a esa instancia en esta provincia.

Expresó Machado Ventura que la solución de los problemas en los colectivos laborales es responsabilidad, en primera instancia, del núcleo del Partido y sus militantes, de la administración, la UJC y el sindicato. Nadie de fuera, ni siquiera el instructor, debe llegar a un centro para descubrir dificultades y buscarles solución.

Hay que lograr que el proceso de fortalecimiento de los núcleos conlleve a mejorar la eficiencia productiva, la calidad de los servicios, comentó para precisar seguidamente que el Partido no debe fortalecerse solo para sí, sino también para conseguir las transformaciones que necesitamos en la sociedad.

El dirigente político entregó un reconocimiento a Carlos Salazar González, quien cesa en su labor de cuatro años al frente del Buró Municipal del Partido en Guantánamo para ocupar nuevas responsabilidades. Los 600 delegados asistentes eligieron a Freddy Vega Sánchez como nuevo primer secretario.

Esta asamblea, como las restantes a nivel de municipio, estuvo caracterizada por la profundidad de los planteamientos y el análisis crítico y autocrítico de las deficiencias. Nadie vino a justificar los errores ni lo mal hecho, indicó en las conclusiones Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar, miembro del Comité Central y primer secretario del Partido en la provincia.

Una muestra de lo anterior fue la inconformidad de los asistentes con lo alcanzado hasta el momento en la producción de renglones que sustituyan importaciones o creen nuevas posibilidades de exportación.

La manera abierta y diáfana con que el Partido enfrenta los problemas, el análisis crítico de estos, hacen que el pueblo tenga cada vez más confianza en él y en la Revolución.
