Miami, the eggs and castroism

Medea Benjamin fulfilled her castroist agenda in Miami. She came with a strange group of the Code Pink organization to demonstrate against the terrorist Luis Posada Carriles in front of the Versailles restaurant. There, a crushing majority of exiles in favor of this “freedom fighter”, Luis Posada Carriles, appeared. Their force of numbers did not dampen Medea but some of the exiles mounted a show of force: they threw eggs and cold water on the pink scarecrows. That way Medea got the image of Castro that she needed. Along the way she collected the argument: Miguel Saavedra and others alleged that the people cannot demonstrate peacefully on whatever they want and wherever they want. To do so against Posada Carriles in front of the “emblematic” Versailles was a “provocation”. Accusing opposers of being provacateurs is one of the most handy things Castro plays. And what about the eggs thrown against those who left by way of Mariel? They were not only used now against Medea but also against the symbolic burial of Castro, and the journalists of the French Chanel 2 television who were filming the scene. Perhaps some of those hurling eggs (and other things) in Miami are moved by Castroism but, there is also the terrible possibility that the Cuban problem does not rely on Castro but that Castro is Cuban.

Miami, los huevos y el castrismo


Medea Benjamín cumplió su agenda castrista en Miami . Vino con un grupúsculo estrafalario de la organización Code-Pink [Código Rosado] a manifestarse contra el«terrorista» Luis Posada Carriles frente al restaurante Versailles . Allí se congregó una mayoría abrumadora de exiliados a favor del «combatiente de la libertad» Luis Posada Carriles. La fuerza del número ponía en ridículo a Medea, pero algunos exiliados montaron el numerito de la fuerza: tiraron huevos y agua fría sobre los espantapájaros rosados. Medea pudo lograr así la imagen que Castro necesitaba. De paso recogió el argumento: Miguel Saavedra y otros alegaron que la gente no puede manifestarse pacíficamente sobre lo que le diera la gana y dónde le viniera en ganas. Hacerlo contra Posada Carriles frente al «emblemático» Versailles constituiría una «provocación». Es sabido que tachar al contrario de provocador es una de las jugadas más socorridas de Castro. ¿Y qué me dicen del huevo, que se consagró dentro de la Isla en los actos de repudio contra quienes decidían irse por el Mariel? No solo se usó ahora contra Medea, sino también en el entierro simbólico de Castro, pero contra los periodistas del Canal 2 de la televisión francesa que filmaban la escena. Quizás algunas de las manos que lanzan huevos (y otras cosas) en Miami sean movidas por el castrismo, aunque cabe asimismo la posibilidad terrible de que el problema cubano no radique en Castro, sino en que Castro es cubano.
