Chinese Intellectuals Come Out
Against
Liberation of Posada Carriles
Three prestigious Chinese intellectuals added their names to more than
six thousand around the world who condemn the impunity perpetrated
by the US in the case of Posada Carriles.

Beijing.— The unanimous demand to bring to trial terrorist Luis Posada Carriles for his crimes, now has three more names; this time, three prestigious intellectuals from the People's Republic of China. They added their names to the text at the website porlajusticia.cu which now has more than six thousand signatures by personalities around the world
Dr. Xu Shicheng, historian and researcher from the Latin American Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences heads the list of Chinese signatures. Xu, who studied at the University of Havana between the 1964 and 1967 is the author of more than 20 studies on Latin America and, particularly, on our country.
Also included among those who condemn the double standard of the U.S. in the case of Posada, is Dr. Mao Xianglin, historian, philosopher and author of Socialism in Cuba published in both China and Cuba as well as many others in the country.
The third Chinese intellectual who had no doubt about adding his name to this worldwide denunciation of injustice is Dr. Liu Chengjun. He is the author of several books and articles on the Cuban National Hero [José Martí].
“While on behalf of an alleged fight against terrorism, thousands of persons have died in Iraq and Afghanistan, and others – arbitrarily detained – are tortured in Abu Ghraib and the illegal base in Guantanamo, the government of the United States protects one of the most notorious terrorists of the Western Hemisphere, in an attempt to deceive public opinion with numerous pseudo-legal maneuvers and refuses to try him for his real crimes,” the text indicates. This now has the support of persons of good will in that Asian country.
“All honest persons raise their voices in the world against war and terrorism now have one more irrefutable example of the absence of ethics in the actions of the current administration in Washington,” states the last paragraph of the docu-denunciation.
The three Chinese intellectuals are currently senior researchers at the Latin American Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences have added their names to the long list of persons demanding that the United States bring Luis Posada Carriles to trial for all his crimes or to acknowledge the request for his extradition presented by Venezuela.

Beijing.— Al unánime reclamo por el cual el terrorista Luis Posada Carriles debe ser juzgado por sus crímenes, se han unido tres prestigiosos intelectuales de la República Popular China. Sus nombres figuran entre los más de seis mil que han suscrito el texto en todo el mundo, colocado en el sitio web porlajusticia.cu.
El dr. Xu Shicheng, historiador e investigador del Instituto de América Latina de la Academia de Ciencias Sociales de China (ILAS), encabeza la lista de firmantes chinos. Xu, quien estudió en la Universidad de La Habana entre 1964 y 1967, es autor de más de 20 obras de estudio sobre América Latina y en especial sobre nuestro país.
También se incluyó entre quienes desenmascaran la doble moral de EE.UU. en torno al caso Posada, el dr. Mao Xianglin, historiador, filósofo y autor del libro El Socialismo en Cuba, publicado en este país y en Cuba, quien cuenta en su haber varios títulos sobre el país caribeño.
Asimismo, el dr. Liu Chengjun, lingüista, historiador y estudioso de la obra de José Martí, quien ha escrito varios libros y artículos sobre el Héroe Nacional cubano, no dudó en sumarse a este esfuerzo global por denunciar la injusticia.
«Mientras en nombre de la lucha contra el terrorismo, cientos de miles de personas han muerto en Iraq y Afganistán, y otras —arbitrariamente detenidas— son torturadas en Abu Ghraib y en la ilegal base de Guantánamo, el gobierno de los Estados Unidos protege al más notorio terrorista del hemisferio occidental, trata de engañar a la opinión pública con interminables maniobras pseudolegales y se niega a juzgarlo por sus verdaderos crímenes», indica el texto, que ahora cuenta con el respaldo de hombres de buena voluntad del país asiático.
«Todas las personas honestas que en el mundo alzan su voz contra la guerra y contra el terrorismo tienen ante sí una prueba irrefutable de la carencia de ética en que basa su actuación la actual administración de Washington», destaca el párrafo final del documento-denuncia.
Los tres intelectuales chinos, actualmente investigadores titulares del ILAS, engrosan la larga lista de personas que exigen al gobierno de Estados Unidos que encause a Luis Posada Carriles por todos sus crímenes o atienda la solicitud de extradición hecha por Venezuela.
