Delegation headed by the leader of the Communist Youth of Cuba made an official visit to Iran

Julio Martinez, first secretary of the UJC, chatted with Ayatollah Eslam Aliakhari, Iran's Deputy Prime Minister and president of the National Organization for Youth in that brother country.

A delegation led by Julio Martinez Ramirez, first secretary of the UJC National Committee, paid an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran since last March 5.

The delegation met with the country's Deputy Prime Minister and president of the National Youth Organization, Ayatollah Eslam Aliakhari, commander in chief Baisij Forces, the Republic's deputy foreign minister Saeed Jalili, and members of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba.

There were also meetings with student organizations, students of the Faculty of Politics and Law, University of Tehran, the Youth Advisory Board President of the Republic and Cuban collaborators working in the sister nation. These were given an update on the main tasks of the UJC and the challenges and prospects of development of our country.

In exchanges of experiences, Iranian leaders have reaffirmed their solidarity with the Cuban people and the Revolution, and have expressed deep desires for the recovery of our Commander in Chief.

As a result of this visit a joint declaration was signed between the Cuban and Iranian youth, which condemned the economic embargo the United States government against Cuba demands the immediate release of our five fellow prisoners of the empire and ratified the will of this people brother to fight the current and future attacks by the U.S. government.

Delegación encabezada por el máximo dirigente de la Juventud Comunista de Cuba realizó visita oficial a Irán

Julio Martínez, primer secretario de la UJC, departió con el Ayatola Eslam Aliakhari, vicepresidente del Gobierno de Irán y presidente de la Organización Nacional de la Juventud de ese hermano país.

Una delegación encabezada por Julio Martínez Ramírez, primer secretario del Comité Nacional de la UJC, realizó una visita oficial a la República Islámica de Irán desde el pasado 5 de marzo.

La comitiva se reunió con el vicepresidente del Gobierno del país y presidente de la Organización Nacional de la Juventud, Ayatola Eslam Aliakhari; el comandante en jefe de las Fuerzas Baisij, el vicecanciller de la República Saeed Jalili, y miembros del Grupo Parlamentario de Amistad con Cuba.

También hubo encuentros con organizaciones estudiantiles, alumnos de la Facultad de Política y Derecho de la Universidad de Teherán, el Consejo de Asesores Jóvenes del Presidente de la República y colaboradores cubanos que trabajan en la hermana nación. A estos se les brindó información actualizada sobre las principales tareas de la UJC y los retos y perspectivas del desarrollo de nuestro país.

En los intercambios de experiencias, los dirigentes iraníes han ratificado su solidaridad con el pueblo cubano y la Revolución, y han expresado profundos deseos por la recuperación de nuestro Comandante en Jefe.

Como resultado de esta visita se firmó una declaración conjunta entre las juventudes cubana e iraní, la cual condena el bloqueo económico del gobierno de los Estados Unidos contra Cuba, exige la liberación inmediata de nuestros cinco compañeros prisioneros del imperio y ratifica la voluntad de este pueblo hermano de luchar contra las actuales y venideras agresiones del gobierno norteamericano.

Una delegación que arribó ayer a tierras persas, integrada por Buenaventura Reyes, vicepresidente del ICAP; Ernesto Corvo, miembro del Comité Nacional de la UJC; Patricia Flechilla, presidenta de la FEEM; y Antonio Guerrero, hijo de uno de nuestros cinco héroes, dará continuidad a esta visita cumpliendo un intenso programa de intercambio con jóvenes en centros estudiantiles, universitarios y de interés científico y cultural.

El Primer Secretario de la UJC participará también en la 17ma. Asamblea de la Federación Mundial de Juventudes Democráticas, que tendrá lugar en Vietnam. Allí se evaluará el trabajo de esta organización desde el pasado Festival Mundial de la Juventud y los Estudiantes (Caracas, agosto de 2005) hasta la fecha, en la cual la UJC ha desempeñado un importante papel en su condición de Secretaria General.
