1. On learning of the death of His Holiness, John Paul II that occurred today at 21:37 hours in Rome (3:37 in Cuba) all Catholic churches will toll their bells every thirty minutes until dusk and will begin again at daybreak tomorrow, Sunday 3 April until dusk.
 

In all temples, today as well as tomorrow, a Holy Mass will be held to offer special prayers for the dead Pope. Also, according to the decisions of the priests, special moments will be observed to pray for His Holiness John Paul II.
 

2. Tomorrow Sunday, at 2:00 pm the Condolences Book will be open in the headquarters of the Apostolic Nunciature in Havana at12 between 5ª and 7ª, Miramar, Playa.
 

3. In this Archdiocese the Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 4 at 7:00 pm in the Saintly and Metropolitan Cathedral of Havana presided over by Cardinal Jaime Ortega Alamino, Archbishop of Havana and President of the Cuban Conference of Catholic Bishops. Also in the mass will be Monsignor Luigi Bonazzi and all the priests of the Archdiocese. All the faithful are invited as well as civilian authorities and the Diplomatic Corps.
 

4. That same Monday, April 4, in the evening, Cardinal Jaime Ortega will travel to Rome to attend the funeral of the Holy Father and later take part in the Conclave of the Cardinals where the successor to John Paul II will be chosen, becoming the 265^th Pope to lead the Church since the 1^st century to the present.

1. Al conocerse el fallecimiento del Santo Padre Juan Pablo II, ocurrido hoy a las 21:37 horas en Roma (3:37 p.m. en Cuba), todos los templos católicos doblaron campanas cada treinta minutos, hasta el atardecer, y lo harán nuevamente desde el amanecer de mañana, domingo 3 de abril, hasta el atardecer.
 

En todos los templos, tanto hoy como mañana, se celebrará la Santa Misa orando de modo especial por el Papa difunto. Del mismo modo, en cada templo, según dispongan los sacerdotes, se celebrarán momentos especiales de oración para rezar por el Santo Padre Juan Pablo II.

2. Mañana domingo, a las 2:00 p.m., será abierto un libro de condolencias en la sede de la Nunciatura Apostólica en La Habana, sita en 12 entre 5ª y 7ª, Miramar, Playa.
 

3. En esta Arquidiócesis, la Misa funeral se celebrará el lunes 4 de abril, a las 7:00 p.m., en la Santa y Metropolitana Iglesia Catedral de La Habana, presidida por el Cardenal Jaime Ortega Alamino, Arzobispo de La Habana y Presidente de la Conferencia de Obispos Católicos de Cuba. Será concelebrada además por el Nuncio Apostólico en Cuba, Monseñor Luigi Bonazzi, y todo el clero de la Arquidiócesis. A ella han sido invitados todos los fieles, así como las autoridades civiles y el Cuerpo Diplomático.
 

4. El mismo lunes 4 de abril, en horas de la noche, el Cardenal Jaime Ortega viajará a Roma para asistir a los funerales del Santo Padre, y participar después en el Cónclave de los Cardenales donde será elegido el sucesor de Juan Pablo II, quien ocupará el lugar 265 en la lista de los Sumos Pontífices que han conducido la Iglesia desde el siglo I hasta nuestros días.
