HAVANA, Cuba (AFP): Cuban President Fidel Castro called into question the mental might of future California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in a five-hour address to an academic conference on "The New World Hegemony" late Friday.

Castro, who did not mention the future California governor by name, referred to Schwarzenegger's recent remarks to Cuban-American lawmakers to the effect that he would not support US trade with communist-run Cuba or visit the Caribbean nation.

Castro noted that the screen star actually has been in Cuba once, though "he has never been invited."

"Judging from the photos, he has a lot of muscles in his body, but they haven't done any X-rays of MRIs or studies to show what kind of muscle he has in his head," Castro said.

"At least he's exercised a lot and may be a good athlete. Let's hope he has a mind as powerful as his arms."
